Landis+Gr Focus axr-SD?
OMFG --> SHES BACK !!!!! Glad to see you here again 🤘🤘🤘🤘
You can also put a small video camera on the camera box and monitor the values.😆
Well that's not in the spirit of radio now is it?
Is it worth Mentioning if Root is Required for this to work on an Android device? I didn't see you say anything about it. Reason i ask is because i get an error trying to get the GitHub from the link you provided. and you siad use a (Chroot) app. Not sure what that is. Glad to see you are back, Missed you!
Would like to Say also Unless your Meter is listed in the selected Meters that are approved, it might be hit and miss if this will be of any use to you. I was able to get it to run on Windows 11, And pick up Data of meters. But none of the meter ID's it picked up, was mine (Even though my meter was 5 feet from the antenna). So even though it does work by collecting data, power, ect. It fails to have an ID for my meter.
Rattlegram left the group..😅
Looks interesting, But..How do I set this up in Windows ?? As you show using Windows 10.. (I can't find a compiled version in the zip) or am I looking in the Wrong Spot (I don't see any RtlAmr.exe. file)..??
Here is the windows release compiled: github.com/bemasher/rtlamr/releases/download/v0.9.1/rtlamr_windows_amd64.zip
@@SignalsEverywhere Thanks ... That's Half the Battle.. (Copied All the RTLSDR.dll and RTL_TCP.dll) 64bit zip ones. to the same folder ... Now all I just need to do is figure out (How to make it .go.) no pun intended.. (So.. I'll Give you two ❤❤ ).. But .. No Kiss just yet. 🤯❓
@x_CrossHair_x maybe I can do a windows tutorial in the future if you're still having issues
@@SignalsEverywhere That would be nice 👍🙂 (I can handle a Batch File) and have Enough knowledge regarding command switches... (No clue about "go") so.. (Hopefully it can be optional).. Plus it's late 2 AM.. Time for a Sandwich.. And Bed.. 💋💋<< Kisses in advance for a Tutorial..
I succesfully compiled and ran rtlamr on a raspberry pi. No data received so far, since gas and water meters at my condo building are analog. Power meters are digital, but they seem to use a power-line communication system (PLC) which by the way is a terrible source of RF interference on the HF bands😓
great video!!
Power line communication is the worst for our RF bands for sure! With your antenna make sure it's not too big, this is all 900mhz ISM band so a larger antenna is actually going to make reception harder. Tune the antenna if it isn't already and see if that helps.
Thank you so much
Yaaaaaay a new video!
Super cool! Any idea if it can run on a raspberry pi/Linux computer? Either way I'll save this and come back to it, because when I replace my phone I'm switching to android
You can absolutely run it from a raspberry pi or other Linux machine. Remotely it does not have to be local
I like it but could never do it.
How can I make it easier?
@@SignalsEverywhere you cant, unless you invent and sell a device that does is with the press of a button. a that point, the problem here seems to be more about being scared about doing that (wich many peoples are about code) or the access to the device. convincing peoples to "do the step" is always the most difficult.
Great :) I wish, you will read optical data from electric meter. I just setup on grid solar energy on my roof. And i want to follow up the electric meter😂
I'm interested, just need to get my hands on more gear so I can build the necessary tools
That was super interesting Sarah, thanks!
Thanks for watching Chris! Good to have you here.
@@SignalsEverywhere It's good to have YOU here! I was worried for awhile.
@@chriholt Things were rough for a while, but I'm finally taking care of myself again.
YOURE BACK
I'm trying :)
Could it send and recieve Marine VHF DSC FSK? 1300 and 2100 Hz with a symbol rate of 1200 Baud..
Yes I believe you can do that in the sound modem but you'll have to form the packet yourself in Python
@@SignalsEverywhere cool, thanks, I'll try it.. Good to hear from you again! :)
Great to see you back online! This is a really cool project. I've been an avid OP25 user and developer for 6 years.
Thank you, it's great to be back. Thanks for your effort and service as well in regards to OP25 development. It really is some amazing software.
Can somebody help me out please and thank you. This is what I get and don't know how to proceed Identified GNURadio version 3.10 Installing for GNURadio 3.10 is not supported by this version of op25 Please use git branch "gr310" for GNURadio-3.10 or later
You are an amazing intellect, and quite the teacher.
Thank you for your kind words.
Packet radio and aprs are a lot of fun. I still love xastir on linux for aprs and direwolf for packet connections. On windows I used to use mixw/agwpe/winaprs .. both AGWPE and Direwolf are also quite useful for programmatic control, be it from python or anything else. I always found it quite interesting that the Linux kernel itself has a packet radio and ax25 stack built-in! :)
Hopefully I'll get some stuff together and do a linux video on soundmodem. The AX25 stack under linux is amazing and even allows for TCP/IP connections!
Has anyone successfully got this up and running ?
A patron had an earlier version of it running, I've made a lot of changes since and have not had anyone to give it a test outside of myself. If you give it a go please let me know if you run into any issues and I'll be happy to assist
Looks cool, will have to give it a look. Just last night I stumbled on an old project I had started: An AGWPE client in Python. I wanted to send larger amounts of data without all the AX25 stuff. I think I lost interest when I realized I'd have to handle split AGWPE frames and needed to buffer and re-assmble everything... Went in the too hard bin :-)
AGWPE was difficult for me, which is why I went with KISS TCP. Thankfully soundmodem supports both :)
Bravo! This is awesome. I hope to get your code working with a digirig connected to my ft-70 Thank you!
Thank you, let me know if you run into any issues :)
Great project Sarah!
thank you :)
I do like the idea but presently I will use this video to think of a way to take advantage of your code. Thank you
Please let me know what you come up with!
Great to see you back Sarah! Missed your content! Hope you're doing great :)
I really need to figure out how to decode digital modes.
I was just day-dreaming a way to interface APRS to the Meshtastic network - and vice versa in a disaster situation... this could be useful! Nice work Sarah!
Thank you, it's a fairly basic application and ended up being a short video but I thought perhaps someone would find it useful
I'd like to suggest, if possible, to allow the android device to play the OP25 audio, instead of and/or in conjunction with the audio from the RPi.
It's a work in progress, I hope to get audio out to the control head but haven't yet figured that out.
WOW This is Slick (Keep Developing this.) I Don't have a Raspberry Pi YET.. But.. This gives me another excuse to get one. (So many Cool things it can do) 👍💡👨🎓
Thanks, getting ready to announce automatic site switching
glad to see you are back!, and with really useful information for HAM users!
welcome back sarah
Where do you get the image for the PI you mentioned
Image was outdated and I haven't made a new one yet so I reverted to just using the script, I may set up torrents for hosting these
Hey, so I managed - after several horribly unsuccessful tries - to get the install to finish with no issues. However, upon reboot, the OP25MCH hotspot shows up for about ten seconds and then the Pi connects back to my home wifi that was used in the initial setup. Any ideas there? Also, When the Pi reboots I assume the necessary services are already running for the scanner?
The script should be run on a fresh install, sounds like your installation previously was configured to connect to your home wifi and that's conflicting with the hotspot.
@@SignalsEverywhere Sorry I wasn't entirely clear in my details. I've been using a fresh install each try. What I meant by it connecting to my home wifi is that is the wifi I used to setup and run the OP25 new_installscript. Or am I supposed to use a wired connection for the setup? I'm using the 32-bit version of Raspbian Bookworm. I tried the 64-bit version twice before but it always hung up at 89%.
@@SignalsEverywhere I might know what happened. When I used RPI Imager to image my SSD I configured my home wifi in it, which wrote something to the install. I'm gonna have to try it without doing that. I'm pretty decent with Linux and stuff like this, but sometimes little details can be a killer lol.
An update. I have tried this install another handful of times. If I use a wired Ethernet connection, I can select option 2 and it will finish, but at that point I lose connection to the web and can't finish option 3! So, it seems a wifi connection is all that will work, at least for me. When it finishes, it reboots and the OP25MCH hotspot shows up for about ten seconds and then it all connects to my home wifi network yet again. I love this concept, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to like me. I'm gonna try a couple more things and then I'm throwing in the towel. 😖
I have SOLVED my issue and got it working! So after the last install, I apt installed midnight command (mc) and went looking for the wpa_supplicant.conf file, but apparently they did away with it this release. I found a file with my home wifi name in the /etc/NetworkManager folder and deleted it. Rebooted the Pi and the OP25MCH hotspot came up, and stayed up! And the android app successfully connected! So if anyone else has this issue that I've had, here's a hopeful solution! 😎
You're awesome Sarah! Glad to see you back in action!
Nice!! Very very nice!
Welcome back fellow NE Ohio resident!
i hope you can develop a scanner function in your app that searches between two frequencies and instantly locks on a transmission and listens then auto stores it, similar to a SDR# plugin. A "near field" function would be great. keep going!
Your back! Nice to see you
Yaaaay!
Greetings from UA. So glad to see video from you Sarah. You are a star!
I heard some Hams were playing around with P25, and I was meaning to look into it. Nice to get to hear about it from you!
K, i think this post makes it official. Welcome back :)
Thanks for being here! It's good to be back.
Glad to see you back on RUclips. I'm thankful that you have produced a lot of interesting and educational videos. Looking forward to future videos.
Thank you, it's great to be back
I'm so so glad to see you making content again. Just know that you were missed and definitely not forgotten. I am using the SDR's I got from you all the time in my shack. I'm absolutely looking forward to anything and everything you put out here. Thank you so much!
Thank you, I'm glad to be back!
Fantastic content, not many are doing it so thank you Sarah and welcome back! I am an iOS user, no Android unfortunately. I own an RTL-SDR v3 and an RPi 4, in the box with the tiny 2.5" touchscreen. Do I have to use it as a server for Android with this image? Can I just set it up to use on the RPi? It's mostly P25 Phase II where I am, will it work?
Technically yes most of this will run under Linux directly, you could run it on the pi with a display I just haven't set up the instructions for that. But yes, if you were to load the repo and run this locally it would work, the server and such would still need installed though. It's also possible to build an iOS app for it but I am not familiar with iOS and don't have a device to test with currently
I really like working with the rpi vs android, but this is great.
I have GOT to set this up in my Jeep with all my other radio stuff! 😁
I'm making progress, it's not perfect but I'm happy to see it's up to snuff enough for others to get it running :)
So great to see this project moving forward. And so exciting to see the SignalsEverywhere channel back again :-)
Happy to be back at it again!
Welcome Back, you were truly missed…. Hope to see many more videos from you.
